Preparing leadership for a spend findings briefing

A short checklist for procurement leads who want the room focused on decisions rather than chart aesthetics.

Preparing leadership for a spend findings briefing

Leadership briefings fail when the first half hour is spent explaining axes. Send a one-page agenda and three decision questions the day before the meeting.

Limit the live deck to the charts that answer those questions. Supporting detail can sit in an appendix pack distributed afterward.

Agree in advance who owns each follow-up: category lead, finance partner, or external advisor. Findings without owners become archives.

If the assessment uncovered incomplete ledgers, say so early. Credibility rises when limitations are stated before recommendations.

Close with a dated next step—tender timing, concentration review, or quarterly reporting—so the briefing ends as a plan rather than a gallery of charts.
